This walk begins at
Hyams Beach and proceeds north across the wave-cut platform to Chinamans
Beach. Hyams Beach is a popular diving school venue on weekends throughout
Best at low tide, this walk offers spectacular views of the Bay and has a number of beautiful rock pools.
Geology: Initially marginal marine sands (beach) leading to Snapper Point Formation – Quartz sandstone and pebbly sandstone, minor silstone and conglomerate. The rock formation tilts and has been eroded by wave cutting. The complexity is obvious on this walk.
Vegetation: There is little vegetation on the platform with remnant eucalypts on the parkland above and casuarinas on the edge towards Chinamans Beach.
